Last week the US Government released a report showing an estimate of how American students would fare if they took the Trends in International Math and Science Study, which measures how primary students fare in international studies (courtesy of the Huffington Post). while some States draw favorable comparisons like japan or Canada, Tennessee has a decidedly less flattering sister in educational achievement. Here’s a breakdown of all 50 states:
While this chart is a gross oversimplification, it does beg the question of how students in the richest country in history cannot outperform a poor former soviet republic?
